Chapter 54 The Enemy Is on the Other Side of the Sea

After resolving internal disagreements, Wonder Woman was finally able to reach a consensus to evacuate the Amazons from Britain.

After 10 Downing Street was razed to the ground, Queen Diana of Paradise Island had no choice but to summon the previously expelled journalists to issue a troop withdrawal notice at Buckingham Palace. The whole thing took less than three days and seemed like a farce.

This was indeed a farce. The underground resistance forces across Britain had not yet formally formed a command chain to fight the Amazons behind enemy lines when they were told that their mission was over.

But their mission was not truly over. After the Amazons settled in the British Isles, only most of the people at 10 Downing Street and Buckingham Palace fled; the administrative staff in various places had not yet begun a large-scale reshuffle.

The resulting power vacuum at the top, following the Amazons' withdrawal, will inevitably lead to armed conflict, and if left unchecked, the consequences will be extremely deadly.

Joey, who witnessed Diana announcing the withdrawal, floated outside Buckingham Palace, waiting for Diana to finish her speech. The current situation was a relatively perfect result for both humans and Amazons.

Initially, the hunting of marine life by land-dwelling people and the dumping of garbage in the ocean could be considered part of the natural cycle, and Mother Ocean was able to tolerate it.

However, since the Industrial Revolution, hunting has turned into one-sided slaughter, and waste emissions have increased exponentially, completely exceeding the limits that the ocean can bear.

The land dwellers ignored Atlantis's warnings, plundering Atlantean resources and polluting Atlantean territory with a clear conscience. When Atlantis took military action to deter them, they then criticized Atlantis for doing so.

Aquaman Arthur Curry is the offspring of a human and an Atlantean princess. This Atlantean, blessed by the sea god, has dedicated himself to solving this problem on behalf of his people since taking office.

He had thought that his marriage to Wonder Woman would bring a different future to the world. Now it seems that the future of the world has indeed become different, but it is not what he hoped for.

With a thought, Aquaman Arthur caused the sea monster beneath his feet to flap its giant fins and burst out of the water. For the creature, which was hundreds of meters long, this action was just a small ripple, but for the fishing boats, it was a devastating catastrophe caused by a towering wave.

In the dim light, Neptune heard someone seem to blow a breath.

He then discovered that the entire sea surface in front of him was rapidly freezing, and the chill spread from the shore, freezing not only the surface of the ocean but also extending deeper into the sea.

To avoid freezing, the warships submerged in the water were forced to dive to deeper seabeds, thus losing their ability to attack the British Isles.

The lower half of the giant sea monster beneath his feet was completely frozen in the ice, unable to move. Just as Arthur was preparing to use his trident to restore the flow of the seawater so he could continue his advance, a red cloak appeared in an instant:

But after being taken to Atlantis by the Grand Chancellor, and facing the brutal power struggles within the royal family, he quickly understood a fundamental truth:

In Atlantis, the kind and courteous are only destined for suffering, while fate only favors the powerful.

A tremendous crashing sound came from the sea surface; it was the sound of Aquaman's body colliding with the ice.

Joey's gentle demeanor vanished from what it had been two minutes earlier. His eyes turned red, and wherever his gaze fell, all the sea creatures frozen on the ice turned into charred skeletons.

He then locked onto Aquaman, whom he had just punched into the ice, and leaped towards him:

"I've been putting up with you for ages since just now!"
