Chapter 385 Huaihua Completes Homework
Liu Guangtian hesitated for a moment, then said sincerely: "Mr. Su, I am very sorry. I did mistakenly think that you had already taken out the loan. However, please rest assured that our cooperation will not be affected. I will continue to execute according to the original plan to ensure the smooth progress of the project."
Su Ming breathed a sigh of relief, a big stone in his heart finally fell. "Thank you for your understanding, Mr. Liu. We will determine the source of funds as soon as possible and share the latest progress with you."
Liu Guangtian smiled and said, "This is what I should do. After all, we are partners. I will do my best to support your project."
They continued to discuss the details of the project and subsequent work arrangements in the office. Su Ming once again emphasized the importance of cooperation and the implementation plan of the project, and Liu Guangtian said that he would fully cooperate to ensure that the project could be completed on time and with high quality.
After the meeting, Su Ming put aside some of his concerns. He knew that although the cooperation with Liu Guangtian had occasional twists and turns, all problems could be properly resolved based on mutual understanding and trust.
Xiaoxia was waiting for Su Ming to come back at home. She knew that today's meeting was of great significance to him. When she saw him walk in, she smiled and walked over to hold his hand.
"Brother Ming, how did the meeting go?" she asked with concern.
Su Ming smiled and said, "Everything is fine. Mr. Liu has understood our situation and will continue to support our project."
Xiaoxia breathed a sigh of relief. "That's great. However, we still need to find a suitable source of funds as soon as possible."
Su Ming nodded, "Yes, I will discuss it with the financial team tomorrow. I believe there will be good news soon."
Xu Xiaoxia was busy in the kitchen, the fire was burning vigorously, exuding a warm family atmosphere. She was cutting vegetables to prepare dinner, and from time to time she glanced at Su Ming who was concentrating on his work in the living room. Su Ming was sitting at the desk, holding a document in one hand and typing on the keyboard with the other, with beads of sweat faintly visible on his forehead.
Xiaoxia couldn't help but chuckle, wiped her hands, and walked to Su Ming. "Brother Ming, you've been working so hard, do you want to take a break first? Dinner will be ready soon."
Su Ming raised his head and smiled tiredly, "It's okay, I'll finish dealing with this batch of documents first. You do your thing, I'll be right there."
Xiaoxia looked at him distressedly and said softly, "Don't be too tired. If there is anything, we can share it together."
Su Ming rubbed his temple, smiled and nodded, "Got it, I will pay attention to rest."
Xiaoxia knew that he was a workaholic, and it was rare to see him so devoted to his work. She turned back to the kitchen silently, began to clean up the cut dishes, and then put them in the stove to stir-fry.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, breaking the quiet atmosphere. Xiaoxia wiped her hands, walked to the door, opened it, and saw that it was Su Ming's mother. The old lady was standing outside the door, holding a bamboo basket covered with a piece of cloth.
"Mom, you're here." Xiaoxia greeted her with a smile, "Brother Ming is busy, please come in and sit down."
Mother Su looked at Xiaoxia with a smile, "Xiaoxia, I brought something to your Huaihua."
Xiaoxia looked at the cloth bag in the basket in surprise, "Wow, are they eggs? Thank you, mom. Huaihua in our family likes eggs the most."
Mother Su smiled and said, "It's not eggs, it's the old hen I raised at home, which I just killed this afternoon."
Xiaoxia stroked the basket and said, "This is really fresh. Huaihua will like it. Please sit for a while. I'll call Brother Ming over."
Mother Su waved her hand and said, "No need. I just came to see Sophora japonica. You guys go about your business. I'll be leaving soon."
Xiaoxia was a little surprised, but she couldn't ask too much, so she led Su's mother to the living room and invited her to sit down. Su's mother looked at the neat and comfortable layout of the house, and her expression showed some satisfaction.
"Ming has been very busy with work recently and has little free time." Xiaoxia handed Su's mother a glass of water, "Have some water. I'll go check on the Sophora japonica flowers."
Mother Su took the cup of water, nodded, and smiled: "Ming, work is important, but you also need to take a rest. You young people always put work first."
Xiaoxia smiled and left the living room to find Huaihua. She opened Huaihua's door and saw Huaihua sitting at the desk, reading a book and doing her homework attentively.
"Huaihua, look what grandma brought you." Xiaoxia said with a smile, putting the basket on the desk.
Huaihua looked up at the basket and her eyes lit up, "Mom, it's grandma's old hen! Thank you, grandma!" She said excitedly, opening the cloth bag to reveal a fresh chicken inside.
Xiaoxia looked at Huaihua with a smile, and was touched by Su's mother's attentiveness and love. She knew that although Su's mother was not good at speaking, she loved Huaihua very much.
"Huaihua, grandma was in a hurry today and couldn't come in to sit for a while. Put the chicken that grandma brought in the refrigerator and we will eat it together in the evening."
Huaihua nodded and continued her homework. Xiaoxia closed the door and returned to the living room, only to find that Su's mother had stood up and was about to leave.
"Mom, why don't you sit for a while? Brother Ming is almost done packing." Xiaoxia said tentatively.
Mother Su shook her head. "I have some things to do at home, so I came to see Huaihua this time. You don't have to see me off. I can go by myself."
Xiaoxia was a little puzzled, but she also knew Su's mother's character and didn't like to meddle in other people's business. She saw Su's mother to the door, watched her back as she walked away, and sighed inwardly.
Back in the living room, Su Ming had already sorted out the documents and walked over to Xiaoxia. "Is dinner ready? I have sorted out these documents."
Xiaoxia smiled and said, "It's almost done. Go wash your hands first and I'll bring it up right away."
They sat down to eat, savoring the delicious dinner while talking about today's work and the trivial matters at home. Su Ming cast a gentle look at Xiaoxia from time to time, feeling grateful and loving towards her.
After dinner, they chatted together in the living room. After Huaihua finished her homework, the whole family sat around on the sofa, enjoying a rare family time.
"Mom came in a hurry today." Xiaoxia said softly, "She said she had something to do at home, so she left."
Su Ming pursed his lips and frowned slightly, "Does she feel that the situation in our family is not as she wishes again?"
Xiaoxia shook her head. "I'm not sure either. She brought an old hen to Huaihua and left before she even entered the house."
When Su Ming's parents died, they left them only a simple hut and a field full of weeds. However, Su Ming was not defeated by the poverty of life. Instead, he showed extraordinary tenacity and intelligence in the face of difficulties. He worked in the fields every day, managed the family frugally, and tried his best to ensure that his sister Su Ting could grow up healthily.
