Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate

Chapter 997: I Really Want to Hit Him

Chapter 997: I Really Want to Hit Him

Old Mrs. Wilson waited for the call to connect, every sound from the other end grating on his nerves, but he couldn’t smash the phone now; he had to get to the bottom of this. The call rang for a long time, so long it was about to be cut off automatically when it was finally picked up.

Old Mrs. Wilson opened his mouth, but before he could even ask anything, he heard Charles Seymour’s indifferent voice on the other end: "I did it on purpose."

After throwing out those few words, the call was hung up, leaving Old Mrs. Wilson sitting there blankly, holding his phone in the air.

After a long while, Old Mrs. Wilson finally raised the phone to his eyes and checked the recent call record; he confirmed that he had dialed Mason Wilson’s number.

So Charles had already predicted he would call Mason, and that’s why he took Mason’s phone, just so he could say that one line to piss him off?

Inside Peace Group, Charles calmly handed the phone back to Mason Wilson.

Mason took the phone in a daze, not even sure what kind of expression he should be wearing.

Charles had been certain his dad would call him, so he came over specifically to wait and answer this call?

Charles looked at Mason and asked, "Will this cause trouble?"

Mason: "..."

This question has zero sincerity, okay?

He waits till everything’s already blown up and then asks—don’t you think that’s a bit late?

For some reason Mason felt Charles was seriously shameless.

Mason really had underestimated Charles. With actual actions, Charles refreshed Mason’s entire perception of him, and demonstrated that shamelessness truly has no bottom line.

"I believe you can handle it." Charles stated calmly.

Mason: "..."

Really want to punch him!

"Back to work." After saying that, Charles turned and walked out of the reception room, leaving in such a suave manner it was as if nothing had happened just now.

Charles just walked away like that?

He actually just walked away!

Mason glared angrily at a certain someone’s back, utterly shameless!

Charles had already vented everything that needed venting, set up everything that needed setting up; now that the old man definitely couldn’t get to Charles, he’d for sure come back to him.

And then Charles just walked away like nothing to do with him?

"He believes I can handle it," my ass!

Jim Perry looked at Mason Wilson’s face—green one second, pale the next, teeth grinding with rage—and silently sympathized with him for a moment in his heart. But as the boss’s subordinate, he decided he should still say a word on his boss’s behalf: "At least for the next few days, the old man at your place won’t call you."

Mason stared blankly at Jim, and said weakly, "Because he’s afraid Charles will be the one to pick up, right?"

"Yeah." Jim smiled and nodded hard, confirming Mason’s guess.

Mason: "..."

Still really want to hit someone!

"Does Charles always handle things this... ’decisively’?" Mason asked.

What he actually wanted was to swap the word "decisively" with "shamelessly."

Charles was basically helping him have a complete falling-out with his old man.

This was a clean break with absolutely no room for retreat.

"But of course." Jim answered with certainty.

Then Jim chuckled and patted Mason on the shoulder. "Better to rip the bandage off quickly. If your old man keeps doing things this way, I’m afraid it won’t end well."

The boss was also doing it for the good of the Wilson Clan; at least this way he could still leave Old Mrs. Wilson something, instead of letting it all end in total ruin with no way to clean up the mess.

Mason gave a bitter smile. Of course he knew that his dad was already a bit obsessed, maybe it was because he was getting old.
