Chapter 38 Reencounter in the Forest, Rescuing the Kangaskhan

Pikachu jumped down from Crimson's arms, grabbed the bag of berries from the ground, and ran towards the Evergreen Forest.

The speed was unbelievable; no one had time to react.

Natsuno snapped out of his daze and bid farewell to the crowd at the market: "Everyone, Akane and I are going to chase after them. You can all go back to your normal lives now."

Then, amidst the cheers of everyone in the market, he dragged the crimson figure in the direction where the pickup truck had disappeared.

Akane watched as the pickup truck disappeared from sight in a few seconds, then looked at Natsuno.

"Natsuno-nii, what happened? Pikachu is missing."

Xia Ye calmly took out his phone, opened an app, and a simple map popped up. A red dot was flashing on the map, and its location was changing rapidly.

"Don't worry, it can't escape. I've prepared a backup plan; there's a tracking device in the fruit bag."

"This is the final plan. Let's go with him and see what's really going on."

"This guy goes to the market and steals a whole bag of berries every day, which is already incredible for Pokémon living in the forest."

"Something must have happened in the forest. Let's go after them and see."

Reaching the edge of the Evergreen Forest, Natsuno swallowed hard as he watched the red dot rapidly moving inward.

"Hey, Akane, you know I'm a researcher, so I don't have much fighting ability."

"How have you been growing these past two or three days?"

Red smiled shyly: "Ah, we've probably fought forty or fifty times. With the candy you gave me, Fire Dragon and Quick Swim have grown very quickly."

Natsuno gave a thumbs up: "I knew I hadn't misjudged you. I'll lead the way, and you remember to protect me."

The two followed the Chaser through the forest, moving left and right, and were very lucky, as they didn't encounter any wild Pokémon along the way.

But Natsuno had a vague feeling that something was very wrong, and he slowed down his pursuit.

Stopping in front of a large tree that had been torn apart by a tremendous force, Natsuno looked to his right and was taken aback.

Large numbers of trees collapsed and were torn into pieces, and there were messy, unclear footprints on the ground.

If you lie down and examine them closely, you can see footprints from small Pokémon like Oddish and Bellsprout, as well as some relatively larger ones, which extend deeper to the right.

"We have a tracker; we'll find it on the left eventually. Let's go to the right first!"

Seeing that they had reached a consensus, Natsuno quickly stuffed his phone into his pocket and ran along the trail of destruction with Akane.

As they went further away, the noise became louder and louder.

Along the way, you can also see some Pokémon with panicked expressions, running away in all directions.

The two quickened their pace and arrived at a circular area that had been cleared out.

The Kangaskhan was covered in wounds, roaring wildly to the sky, its eyes bloodshot as it stared at Wartortle.

A boy wearing a green shirt slowly walked out from behind Squirtle, speaking in a calm and unhurried tone.

Natsuno's eyes widened: "Little Green? What are you doing here?"

He was quite surprised: Holy crap, it evolved Squirtle into Wartortle in just three days? No wonder it was created by the breeder.

Qinglu noticed the two of them and greeted them, "Xia Ye-ge, what brings you here? I heard some noise at the edge of the forest and came this way."

"Crimson, you won't be so lucky this time. Once I've tamed this Kangaskhan, we'll have another fight."

Seeing that Kangaskhan had already charged towards Wartortle, Green quickly gave the command.

"Water Ripple! Once the opponent gets close, retreat into your shell and move away!"

Energy surged around Wartortle, and as it opened its mouth, a blue ring rippled outwards towards Kangaskhan.

The Kangaskhan's eyes turned red, and it made no attempt to dodge, lunging straight at Wartortle.

The body was stopped in place by the water wave, and after the water wave attack dissipated, Kangaskhan continued to pounce on Wartortle.

Wartortle remained calm, retracting its entire body into its shell, with green energy shimmering on its surface, enhancing its defensive capabilities.

Then the entire tortoise shell rolled away into the distance, creating more space.

"The final ripples in the water!"

With the green command, energy surged around Wartortle once more, and a blue ring was launched.

The already wounded Kangaskhan could no longer withstand the blow and slowly collapsed to the ground.

He pulled a miniature Poké Ball from his waist with two fingers, pressed to enlarge it, and threw it at Kangaskhan.

Just as it was about to crash into the Kangaskhan's body, it was swatted away by the Kangaskhan's paw.

Green catches the Poké Ball that bounces back, and, not believing it, throws it under Kangaskhan's body, out of reach of its hand.

Kangaskhan's eyes were fixed on the green, and with a flick of its tail, it bounced the Poké Ball back again.

The series of defeats made Qinglu's eyes light up: "You still have the strength? You're really strong. I need you. Come on, don't resist anymore."

"Wartorium, use Water Pulse!"

Upon hearing Green's command, Natsuno anxiously shouted, "Green, stop! We can't force wild Pokémon to be captured! There must be something we don't know!"

Crimson's actions were faster than Natsuno's voice; the instant Azumi gave the order, Crimson had already thrown a Poké Ball.

At the same time, he quickly ran towards the Kangaskhan, issuing the command: "Fire Dragon, use Dragon Breath!"

A flash of red light appeared, and a Charizard appeared in front of the Kangaskhan, gathering energy in its mouth.

"roar!"

The energy transformed into dragon breath and surged forth, meeting the water ripples of Wartortle.

"Crack!" The energy of the two attacks canceled each other out and eventually dissipated in mid-air.

Red crouched down in front of the dying Kangaskhan, gently comforting it, and carefully took the baby Kangaskhan out of its pouch.

Watching the other person leave, Crimson looked at Green, who seemed lost in thought.

"You didn't observe the Pokémon carefully and didn't notice the problem with this Kangaskhan."

"You don't care enough about Pokémon, and you're not ready to catch them right now."

Qinglu's composure crumbled the moment she heard that.

"I don't need your advice, let's fight again!"
