Chapter 762 - 733: Love Across Parallel Worlds [055]
After dinner, Harrison Rowe said he wanted to take a stroll around the city and dragged Maeve along.Simon Forrester asked Sienna if she wanted to go out for a walk or head back to the room to talk. Sienna blushed and said watching a movie in the room would be fine too.
The two of them held hands and returned to Simon Forrester’s room, coincidentally, it was the same presidential suite as last time. Just before entering the room, Sienna felt a bit uneasy, recalling what had happened that night in the room. Her face turned completely red, and a thin layer of sweat appeared on her back.
Simon Forrester maintained his usual calm demeanor, holding her hand as they entered the room. As soon as the door closed, he pressed against her lower back, and their lips met...
They were wrapped up in each other until Maeve called, prompting Sienna to hurriedly get dressed, and Simon Forrester escorted her back to her room downstairs.
The next day, the group of four went to Z City’s downtown and spent half the day there. After lunch, they set off back to Brimfield. Maeve took Sienna home, while Simon Forrester and Harrison Rowe rushed to the office to work on a proposal.
At that time, there were only five days left until New Year’s Eve of 2017. The design firm had already gone on holiday, and all the designers had returned home. Logan Lockwood was off somewhere charming. Simon Forrester, to help Sienna with the homestay proposal, dragged Harrison Rowe, who also needed to return home for the holiday, to work overtime with him.
Because it was already decided that he would formally visit Quentin Thorne at the Thorne Family for New Year’s, Simon Forrester and Sienna started going on dates in the evenings again in the days leading up to the New Year. Quentin Thorne, thinking his daughter was busy with work before the New Year, didn’t realize that she had reconciled with Simon Forrester.
Soon it was Lunar New Year’s Eve. Sienna started her holiday that day, tidied up her own room, and helped Quentin Thorne paste Spring Festival couplets. In the evening, Maeve came over, and they started to gather around the stove, waiting to watch the Spring Festival Gala that night.
Before the gala started, Simon Forrester called, saying he had been staying at the Forrester Family’s home to accompany his family and asked if Sienna wanted to go to Jadeston Lights Bar with him that night for New Year’s Eve.
Upon hearing this, Sienna’s heart was moved. She half-heartedly asked Quentin Thorne for permission. Perhaps Quentin also thought she had lost weight from "heartbreak" and wanted to make her happy, and seeing that Maeve was also there, easily agreed, even letting them take his car out.
Immediately, Sienna was no longer interested in staying by the stove, nor in watching the gala. Before eight, she pulled Maeve away.
The two of them drove Quentin Thorne’s Audi, went to see a movie first, and by the time Simon Forrester arrived around ten, Maeve reminded him to take good care of Sienna before going to another bar to join her friends for New Year’s.
That night was very cold. Sienna wore a long white down jacket and around her neck was a red cashmere scarf that Simon Forrester had given her back in London. Her long hair hung down both sides, and she wore a red-and-white knitted hat on her head.
She looked like a cute little animal.
Simon Forrester gently patted her knitted hat, and without saying a word, leaned in and gave her a kiss.
At the cinema entrance, with people coming and going, Sienna felt shy, blushing as she hid in his embrace.
The two of them got in the car, and even until they entered Jadeston Lights Bar, they were still tightly holding hands. Simon Forrester led her directly to the spot where they had watched the first snow last time.
On the table was a large bouquet of champagne roses, to which Sienna exclaimed in surprise, "These flowers?"
Simon Forrester picked them up with one hand and handed them to her, "I just realized I’ve never given you flowers."
"Are they for me?" Sienna took them, closed her eyes, and took a deep inhale of their fragrance, "They smell wonderful, I like them."
"As long as you like them." Simon Forrester said, holding her hand as they sat down, "Next time I’ll buy different flowers."
The bar staff brought two glasses of juice and some snacks. Sienna placed the flowers beside her, removed her scarf and jacket, and Simon Forrester immediately pulled her into his arms.
Simon Forrester held her close, occasionally giving her a kiss on the forehead. The two sat in silence, waiting for the approaching midnight, savoring this uninterrupted sweetness.
"Ten, nine, eight... three, two, one! Happy New Year!"
With the cheers of the crowd, small confetti cannons were set off inside the bar, and the endless stream of cars along Concordia Avenue below looked like a beautiful necklace, adorning the night’s cityscape with charm.
"Annie, Happy New Year!" Simon Forrester kissed her on the forehead, "You’ve grown another year older."
She sat up and hugged him, wrapping her slender arms around his waist, resting her face against his chest, nestled in the small space he shielded from the world.
It felt so happy, so secure.
At this moment, he moved his arms, and a hard object was quickly placed in her hand.
She was slightly surprised, looking up at him, then down at the heavy red envelope in her hand, bursting into laughter: "I’m this old, and you’re still giving me red envelopes?"
Even though she asked this, her hands eagerly opened the envelope: "Wow! How much is in this envelope? So many notes!"
Simon Forrester laughed and pulled her into his arms again: "Just a small token, use it to buy some candy. Eat them to grow strong and healthy."
She laughed, filled with happiness and contentment: "How much candy can I buy with this money? I’ll get cavities..." As she said this, she leaned into his arms again with the half-open red envelope, laughing.
The bar buzzed with life again, as people exchanged "Happy Lunar New Year" greetings. Sienna nestled in Simon Forrester’s embrace, listening to his strong heartbeat while enjoying the brilliantly lit cityscape.
Simon Forrester whispered in her ear, "You’re twenty-six now, you can get married."
She blushed, poking his abs with her index finger, "I’m still twenty-five. I won’t be twenty-six until April, when it’s my birthday."
"How about marrying me on your birthday in April?"
"No way, who gets married during Qingming?"
"Then how about May? Annie is sure to be the prettiest May bride..."
"We’ll see how you perform..."
"Alright." Simon Forrester responded, reaching out to tickle Sienna’s stomach.
She gasped for air at being teased, then burst into laughter, only left with pleading.
The two of them sat in a quiet corner, cozying up for a while, and seeing that it was getting late, stood up to leave.
Simon Forrester helped Sienna with her jacket, not noticing Jack Hawthorne, Logan Lockwood, and Gage Grant approaching with a flower-decked date each.
"Well, isn’t that Jules?" Jack suddenly exclaimed.
Simon Forrester looked over upon hearing this, his face turning somber.
Logan Lockwood, holding a wine glass in one hand and a girl in the other, walked forward. His half-drunken eyes glanced at Sienna’s face, then turned around to shout: "Fourth Master Grant, Holt, this is the girl I told you about, the ninety-nine-point babe!"
His date’s expression soured at once. Her eyes disdainfully swept over the plainly dressed Sienna, questioning, "Did you pursue her?"
Logan Lockwood sobered up considerably, chiding his date: "Go, go, what nonsense are you talking about?! This is my boss’s wife! The lady of SY Design Firm!"
