Hogwarts and the Atypical Wizard

Chapter 220: Uncovering the Truth (Continued)

Chapter 220: Uncovering the Truth (Continued)

"Don't be nervous, Mr. Weasley," Dumbledore comforted Ron, "I asked you to come here because there is something I need to confirm with you.

I heard you have a mouse?"

Ron probably thought he had violated another school rule, so the principal had to make the final decision. When he came in, he had an expression that said "I'm done" on his face.

Perhaps Professor McGonagall had the same idea. Saiens noticed that her tightly pursed lips moved several times after she came in. She seemed to want to speak, but also seemed to want to listen to the headmaster's words first before speaking. She was probably preparing to listen carefully so that she could find a more suitable reason for Ron.

After the headmaster spoke, Ron and Professor McGonagall both relaxed a little.

When Ron heard that they didn't come here to cause trouble for him, his collapsed expression improved a little. He tilted his head to look at Sainz, and answered nervously under Sainz's encouraging eyes: "Yes... yes, Professor Dumbledore, but... it was Percy's pet in the past. He gave it to me because he didn't want it anymore."

"Its toe is missing?"

"Yes...Scabbers...he is indeed missing a toe, but...Professor...I didn't abuse him! Please believe me." Ron defended himself in panic.

"Don't be nervous, Mr. Weasley. We are not an animal protection association and we will not examine whether a wizard has abused his pet. Have you?" Dumbledore said gently.

"No!" Ron denied it immediately, but he seemed to realize that he was not here for trial today, and he was much more relaxed than when he first arrived.

"Mr. Weasley, in fact, I asked you to come here just to confirm where your rat is now?"

"Scabbers is in my dorm right now, Professor!"

"Okay, Professor McGonagall, we need to go to the Gryffindor common room right now."

Professor McGonagall was a little confused and a little unhappy, "I'm sorry, Headmaster, I don't quite understand!

You called us here to find a mouse."

She suddenly turned to look at Sainz, "Autumn, I hope you didn't give the principal any weird ideas!"

"Professor!" Sainz exaggeratedly expressed that he was wronged. "It is true that I asked Professor Dumbledore some questions, but it was not my idea to call you two over!"

Fortunately, old Dumbledore did not let Sainz bear Professor McGonagall's anger alone. "It has nothing to do with Mr. Autumn, Professor McGonagall. I need your help with something."

He paused, "And this matter does have something to do with us."

"us?"

"Yes, we!" Dumbledore emphasized "we" again.

"Professor McGonagall, perhaps Mr. Autumn's guess is wrong, but it concerns a person's reputation, so we have to be cautious.

Let me explain this later. Now, let's go to Mr. Weasley's dormitory."

Sainz said, "Professor, I have said everything I want to say, so I will go back now."

The principal, who was about to leave, stopped and said, "No, Mr. Autumn, I think as the discoverer of the whole incident, you have the right to stay here."

"Okay, if that's your will, I'll wait here for a while." Sainz had no objection.

Old Dumbledore and the other two left. After a while, Old Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall came back with a mouse in a cage.

Professor McGonagall was still expressing her dissatisfaction with the headmaster, "Professor Dumbledore, we'd better have a legitimate reason. Otherwise, it's against the rules to confiscate students' pets without reason!"

Professor Dumbledore did not answer Professor McGonagall. The first thing he said after entering was to confirm with Sainz, "Is it this?"

Sainz stepped forward and looked carefully at the mouse shivering in the cage, "Yes, professor, it is the one I saw that day. I examined it carefully at that time.

Professor McGonagall said seriously: "Autumn, what the hell are you doing!?"

Dumbledore got the confirmation and turned to Professor McGonagall and said, "Professor McGonagall, Mr. Autumn suspects that this mouse is an Animagus..."

"Nonsense!" Professor McGonagall's chest heaved with anger, and she stared at Sainz seriously, "You. Suspicious?

Autumn, there are only seven Animagus registered this century, and not one of them is a rat!"

Sainz didn't take Professor McGonagall's reprimand seriously, "Professor, not everyone is as disciplined as you!"

"Professor McGonagall," Dumbledore knocked on the cage, "so we need your help. You are the most qualified among us."

Professor McGonagall was not discouraged by the compliments. "Then I must have a good look at you!"

Although she looked unhappy, she still began to carefully check the fat rat in the cage.

Her expression became increasingly suspicious, and her voice was a little uncertain, "Professor Dumbledore, I need it to come out of the cage."

Professor Dumbledore waved his hand to close all the doors and windows, opened the cage and let the mouse out.

As soon as the mouse came out, it ran around in panic and was tied up with a rope by Sainz without any hesitation.

Professor McGonagall nodded as she took it, then shook her head slightly.

The mouse struggled in her hands, but Professor McGonagall's expression became more and more wrong, "Professor Dumbledore, I'm sorry to hear that Mr. Autumn is right again this time!"

Dumbledore quickly came to the mouse and said, "I didn't expect that!"

"Professor Dumbledore," said Professor McGonagall self-reproachfully, "I am ashamed that an Animagus had been hiding in my college common room for so many years without my noticing it..."

Sainz comforted her. "Professor, I think this is what Animagus is best at. I don't think anyone has the right to blame you."

"I totally agree!" Dumbledore stared at the mouse on the tray with interest. "True... interesting..."

Professor McGonagall was not the kind of person who would dwell on trivial matters. She regained her composure after a moment. "Well, can someone tell me what is going on now?"

Professor Dumbledore told her how Sainz had come to suspect and how he had made the connection.

Professor McGonagall covered her mouth in disbelief, "So, you suspect it's Peter Pettigrew?"

She pressed her chest, "But he died twelve years ago. He was blown to pieces by the curse. Only one finger was left!"

"It was only one finger that was found in the rubble, Professor."

Sainz said, "I looked at the records of the time, and there is no record that anyone saw him being blown to pieces."

Professor Dumbledore pointed at the tied mouse, and his old voice was inexpressible. "Why don't we listen to what the Hidden One has to say, Professor McGonagall?"

Professor McGonagall didn't say anything. She silently stretched out her wand, waved her hand to remove the rope from the mouse, and then a blue light shot out from the tip of the wand, and the mouse was fixed in mid-air.

There was another dazzling flash, and then a magical scene appeared, as if a fast-forward shot of a tree growing was being played on the spot.

A head grew out!
