Banshee Family Training Record
Author: Dwarf Crane
Summary:
Yun Chu'an had transmigrated, and this world was clearly not simple. The bandits here could shatter boulders with a single punch, and as a mere mortal with no strength to even kill a chicken, he had no choice but to be captured.
The good news is that he was soon chosen by the master behind the bandits and recruited into the family as a son-in-law to build up the territory and revitalize the family.
But the bad news is that his bride is a zombie, and his relatives are a bunch of monsters and demons!
At the beginning of the transmigration
Chapter 1 Dark Marriage
Yun Chu'an, true to his name, is a man who is content with whatever comes his way.
Unfortunately, fate seemed unwilling to let him live out the rest of his life peacefully. The drunk truck driver slightly turned the steering wheel and sent him to another world.
This is a world similar to his ancient homeland. As soon as he landed, before he could even settle down, he and another group of poor villagers were captured by a band of vicious mountain bandits and taken up the mountain.
On the way, he did consider running away, but when he saw a bandit smash a boulder the size of a stone roller into pieces with a single punch, he immediately realized that this was no ordinary bandit group.
This is a group of skilled mountain bandits.
And this is probably a world with all sorts of chaotic forces and strange gods.
Left with no other choice, he had to temporarily abandon his escape plans and obediently follow these guys, being escorted together to a cave in the mountains.
Three days have passed since then.
The bandits didn't tie them up, as if they were confident that none of them could escape their grasp.
For the past three days, each meal consisted of only a bowl of cold, hard brown rice, which was difficult to swallow. But Yun Chuan had no choice; starvation would only make his chances of survival even slimmer.
He didn't want to die; he wanted to live.
But the countdown to death was drawing ever closer to him.
Every day, the bandits would come in and randomly select two or three people to leave. Then, outside the cave, one would hear the man's shrill screams and the bandits' frenzied, satisfied sighs.
Undoubtedly, these bandits were essentially evil cultivators who fed on human blood. Falling into their hands, death became a release.
And within a few days, it seemed that this fate was about to befall him as well.
As the sun set, Yun Chuan lay on the cold stone ground, about to fall asleep, when the sound of hurried hooves came from outside.
Then, the sound of disordered footsteps approached. Yun Chu'an, half asleep, opened his eyes and saw the group of bandits dressed in burlap clothes with broadswords hanging at their waists filing in.
The leader of the bandits was particularly tall, with a scar across his left eye, indicating that he was blind in that eye. He scanned the crowd with his remaining right eye, and suddenly, his gaze met Yun Chu'an's.
Yun Chu'an felt a sense of foreboding. He closed his eyes, trying to continue pretending to be asleep, but the bandit leader had already approached: "Wake up, stop pretending, get up!"
Helpless, Yun Chu'an opened his eyes and got up from the ground. He was not short, after all, he came from modern society and naturally had no shortage of protein. Standing up straight, he was actually half a head taller than the bandit leader.
The fierce-looking bandit leader sized him up and down, then said, "Not bad... Tell me, what's your name?"
"Yun Chu'an." Yun Chu'an knew there was no need to hide anything, so he answered honestly.
"how old?"
"twenty four."
"Have you gotten married yet?" the robber asked again.
Yun Chu'an secretly grumbled at the question, but still answered honestly, "No."
Have you ever been to a brothel?
"nor."
Upon hearing this, the robber immediately laughed: "Really? You don't look like a poor wretch who can't afford a wife. How come you're over twenty and have never even been to a brothel?"
Yun Chuanxin said that he simply couldn't communicate with these people, and lowered his head: "It was a coincidence."
The bandit leader didn't ask any further questions and continued, "You now have two choices. First, like them, offer up your flesh and soul to nourish us brothers. What do you think?"
Yun Chu'an then asked, "And the second one?"
The bandit leader immediately laughed: "The second option would be an even better thing for you."
"Grandma Huai Shan is a benefactor to us men. She has a daughter who has been unable to get married for many years. Therefore, she had no choice but to resort to this tactic and ask us men to help her find a suitable husband. In my opinion, you are very suitable."
As he spoke, he laughed, a laugh tinged with murderous intent: "What do you think?"
Do you have a choice?
Yun Chu'an muttered to himself, considering this a turning point, perhaps with a way to escape later. So he pretended to be overjoyed and said, "As the sage said, misfortune may be a blessing in disguise, and a blessing may be a misfortune in disguise. I never thought that I, a bachelor for so long, would encounter such a good thing. Heroes, thank you all!"
The bandits burst into laughter, and the bandit leader reached out and patted him on the shoulder: "Good lad, you have the heart for this, so you can consummate your marriage tonight!"
"Cheer up, don't embarrass yourself later!"
As he spoke, he turned around and gestured for Yun Chu'an to follow. The latter breathed a sigh of relief and, amidst the envious gazes of the people behind him, followed this guy all the way out.
Outside, the stars shone brightly and the full moon hung high. The bandit leader led him to the stream and gave him a quick wash. The icy water slid over Yun Chu'an's body, making him shiver, but the bandits didn't care about his feelings. After washing him clean, they immediately brought him a bright red wedding robe and told him to change into it quickly.
Such hasty actions aroused Yun Chu'an's suspicions even more. He remained expressionless, changed his clothes, and the bandit leader turned and went up the mountain, walking in front of him and telling him to follow.
The chirping of birds in the mountains made the night even more serene. After walking for a while, the group arrived at the mountaintop.
This is a village, but it appears quite prosperous. White walls and black tiles surround the houses, and two-meter-high courtyard walls enclose each house. White lanterns hang under the eaves of every household.
Upon arriving here, the bandits' faces turned serious, and they fell silent, as if afraid of disturbing something.
Before they knew it, the group arrived in front of a large courtyard. Unlike the other houses, the lanterns hanging here were red, and the candlelight, as red as blood, cast a crimson glow on the front gate.
The door was decorated with the character for "happiness," and the couplets were also red, suggesting that the family was celebrating a happy occasion.
The bandit leader stopped at the door, and Yun Chu'an, dressed in a bright red wedding groom's suit, was also forced to stop there. Then the door creaked open, and a chilling wind rushed out, making him shiver.
He looked up and saw a red lamp hanging from the ceiling in the dark courtyard, its crimson light illuminating the surroundings.
The three bandits remained silent, but all six eyes were fixed on him, their hands on their broadswords, their meaning clear.
Yun Chu'an sensed something was wrong, but he knew he had no choice. Gritting his teeth, he stepped over the threshold and went inside.
Then the door behind me suddenly slammed shut, cutting off all contact with the outside world. No sound could be heard outside, not even the birdsong in the mountains.
Under the eaves of the corridor ahead, red lanterns lit up eerily, like scarlet eyes, silently staring at him.
In an instant, Yun Chu'an felt a chill run down his spine, finding everything before him extremely bizarre.
He clenched his fists, constantly telling himself there was no way out; all he could do now was move forward.
He reminded himself of this three times before he mustered his courage again and stepped forward.
At the end of the corridor stood a grand hall with upturned eaves, its lattice doors tightly shut, dim light filtering through. He reached the doorway and pushed open the closed lattice doors.
"squeak~"
The sickening sound echoed in the night.
Inside the hall, candlelight flickered, a red carpet was laid out, and at the end of the carpet were two armchairs, an offering table with candles and fruits, and a bright red "double happiness" character on the wall.
On either side of the red carpet stood seven or eight pale paper figures, dressed as servants, with lifelike eyebrows and eyes, and scarlet, slightly upturned lips.
What's most unsettling is that the heads of these paper figures are twisted at bizarre angles, their empty eyes staring at the doorway, at him as he pushes it open and enters.
Before Yun Chu'an could even feel fear, he heard the paper figures suddenly open their mouths and take turns emitting sharp sounds:
"The groom is here."
"Where's the bride? Is she all done with her makeup?"
"Groom, what are you standing there for? Hurry up and go to the side room to fetch the bride so we can have the wedding ceremony!"
……
The piercing sound sent chills down his spine. Following the direction the paper figures pointed, he saw another door on the side of the room, and the bride, who was getting ready, must be inside that room.
Gritting his teeth, he mustered his courage and strode towards that direction.
As soon as he entered, he saw a pitch-black coffin lying in the center of the room, with a large red "囍" (double happiness) character pasted on its top. Apart from that, there was nothing else in the room, let alone any trace of the bride.
Instantly, he understood everything.
This isn't some respected old woman marrying off her daughter; it's practically forcing him to arrange a ghost marriage for a dead person!
Having figured this out, he suddenly felt nauseous. Before he could come up with a solution, the coffin in front of him suddenly began to tremble violently.
Something is about to jump out of it!
Yun Chu'an felt his hair stand on end. He stared wide-eyed as the black coffin lid suddenly stood upright, a cold wind howled, and then a swift figure leaped out.
The figure was about 1.7 meters tall and landed heavily in front of him.
She wore a bright red veil, obscuring her face, and a traditional red wedding dress, so red it resembled blood, which was breathtaking.
She wore embroidered shoes, and her attire was no different from that of a typical bride. However, her arms were stretched straight forward, as if she couldn't put them down.
Seeing her like this, Yun Chuan immediately understood what this was.
Zombies!
His bride was a zombie!
In an instant, he was filled with extreme fear and only wanted to turn around and leave.
However, the moment this thought arose, the shrill voices of the paper figures outside rang out again: "Groom, come out! Bring the bride out so we can get married!"
The sound sent chills down one's spine, but in an instant, Yun Chu'an calmed down.
No, that's not right!
Those bandits didn't have such supernatural powers to arrange this place like this, which means that there is someone with even greater magical power behind it, controlling all of this.
It's that old woman from Huai Mountain!
There was no way I could escape the clutches of such a person. Resistance would only lead to death, while feigning obedience might give me a chance to live!
Thinking this, he suppressed his fear, reached out and took the zombie's cold hand, and walked out as if they were a bride and groom about to get married.
As soon as he took a step, he saw the zombie leap outwards with its feet.
Each time she landed, the ground beneath her feet made a dull thud, as if she were stepping on Yun Chuan's heart, sending shivers down his spine.
A human and a zombie arrived at the main hall, where a paper eunuch was already waiting. Upon seeing them approach, the paper eunuch began to shout at the top of his lungs, "First bow to Heaven and Earth—"
There were no statues of gods on the altar in front of him, but Yun Chu'an still bowed down.
Beside her, the Corpse Bride also knelt down, seemingly her body was not completely stiff, at least flexible enough to kneel.
"Second worship high hall-"
The paper figure called out again, but the armchair in front of them remained empty. Yun Chu'an and the zombie bride knelt in worship, and then the paper figure called out a third time: "Husband and wife bow to each other—"
Yun Chu'an turned around and faced his zombie bride, who was dressed in bright red. He slowly bowed, and she also bowed. In the room filled with fear and eeriness, the human and the ghost completed a mutual bow.
"Send it to the bridal chamber—"
The paper eunuch gave its final call, and Yun Chu'an and the zombie bride turned around together. But he could feel that the paper eunuch's eyes were still watching him from behind. If he did anything disobeying, it would probably take action itself.
not the right time yet.
He steeled himself and, together with his zombie bride, returned to the room containing the coffin.
There was no wedding bed in the room; only the coffin was on display, from which his bride had just sprung out.
The coffin lid still stood upright beside him, the coffin mouth wide open, like a bottomless abyss, waiting for him to walk into its trap.
Yun Chu'an racked his brains, desperately trying to figure out how to escape, but the mastermind behind the scenes couldn't wait any longer.
A cold wind blew by, and an invisible hand suddenly lifted his body. Caught off guard, he was suddenly flipped over and fell into the coffin in front of him, lying down automatically.
Outside, the zombie bride leaped into the coffin and lay down beside him on the hard wooden planks.
Outside, the coffin lid was swept up by the eerie wind and flew up, covering the coffin and blocking out the last bit of light.
The coffin was pitch black, and the cold wind blew away the last bit of warmth and yang energy from his body, making him feel that his hands and feet were stiff and cold, as if he had become a zombie.
Even more terrifying, he felt a pair of icy hands suddenly climb onto his shoulders.
A zombie climbed onto him!
